Treatment
If injury does occur, there are stages of treatment that most often start with nonsurgical methods. Those are usually effective, but if they are not, then surgery may be necessary.

Surgical Treatment
See what we actually do in surgery here! This section has descriptions of the arthroscopic surgical procedures that are done for throwing and some other athletic-related injuries. There are many photographs of actual torn tissue being repaired. This section is also useful for orthopedic surgeon education.
Dr. Metzger has used anchors that require knot-tying for years, but now newer implants are used that do not require knot-tying. These are used exclusively now for most all surgeries done at SafeThrow, because with no knots, there is no chance of the knots untying, the bulk of the knots in the joint is eliminated, and the surgical procedure is faster. These implants and their knotless technique is seen in the cases presented in this section.
